Right Offer. Right Opportunity. Right Time.

You are in the perfect position to get there from here. ~Abraham-Hicks

I have a fantasy. In this fantasy I own a boat and I am sailing around the world. Charting my own course. Going where my heart and mind tells me. Doing what I want to do every day. Every night I point my boat in the direction of where I am headed next.

Sounds absolutely wonderful. It’s a bold dream, and I like it.

Umm this is a fantasy now because while I have been on boats before… I do not know how to actually sail. Such a small, tiny, little insignificant issue to work through. Many of you may say this is a pretty impractical dream as I do not own a boat nor do I know how to sail.

 I disagree.

I know how to sail deep within me….at my source.

I could feel like the odds are stacked against me. You may feel like I am being unreasonable for even thinking about this. Silly Desiree, you say!  I mean, it’s not grounded in reality.  I am almost 45 years old. Will I really learn how to sail and make my way around the world?

So until I get the boat…and learn to sail….and sail around the world I will position myself so that I am in the best place to make my dream a reality when the opportunity presents itself.

Positioning is critical when looking to achieve a big goal.

1. Pull out the compass and keep it pointed in the direction of your goal.   Take a little bite of your goal every day. Read an article. Study a new concept. Learn the lingo. Host a forum. Build a tribe of like-minded lovelies. Make this goal apart of your daily life.

 2.  Have a stretchy yoga- like goal.   Let your dream have enough flexibility and stretch, not because you cannot make up your mind but because life changes so quickly. You have to be able to adjust. Sometimes unplanned circumstances call for you to turn on a dime.  I want you to be able to turn and adjust as quickly as the market demand. Surprises will happen!   Have your goal be strong and rooted but stretchy and flexible – like yoga!

3. Share the love.  Most people are scared to share their goals with others. That could be another person or another organization.  DO it. Trust it. Share it and leverage it. Who has what you want?  Connect-collaborate and communicate your way to success.

4. Hire a pro. Sometimes we need help. Sometimes we need lots of help. We do not always have the skills in house.  Even worst the skills needed to achieve a segment of your goal makes you want to pluck out your eyeballs. I am talking to you accounting! Do what you know how  to do and hire others to help you achieve your goal. Outsource, outsource, partner and outsource some more.

Positioning is perception that the right offering, the right opportunity happened at the right time. And that you were ready to act when it did.

Cultivate your goals with love, passion  and strategy and continue to be fearless in achieving your goals– even those that seem impossible.

Slow, Deep, Irreversible Work

Soft with each other hard on systems

Hello friends! Last week, I had the privilege and honor of speaking on two different panels about how the systems we find ourselves in are hard on every one of us. They are hard on us emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually. Yet, we continue to fight to...

Is it ok to celebrate an inch? Takeaways from 2023

Hi y’all,  A theme we've seen throughout the year with our clients is folks feeling disheartened because their DEI and racial equity work didn’t make as much progress as they’d hoped. We’ve watched staff managing the fallout from layoffs, funding gaps, resource...
