Get Bloody

The Greatest of All time - Muhammed Ali

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage. -Anais Nin

Get Bloody.

Its a badge of courage– it is a sign of brilliance.  The true innovators always get bloody, bruised and beat up.  The first guy or gal through the door always takes the most hits. They get laughed at and mocked. They are talked about and made to feel shame. They are misunderstood and maligned.

They take on the chin and come back for more.

They are called names like dreamer, crackpot, lazy,or loser. They are ridiculed and often by people that know  and  actually love them. Parents, siblings, friends, spouses.

Sometime they bet it all and lose everything. They take the hard body blows. Then they get back up. They look uncomfortable and foolish, but they are the bravest folks you have ever seen.

They Are Great.

They are visionaries. Stepping  into and creating  the future. They are  not waiting for things to happen they are making things happen -sometimes in ways we do not understand. They are never comfortable or stagnant. They are never content and settled is a dirtiest of words. They never lead lives of quiet discontent. They have the moral courage  to stand up for and live with a system of personal values, which are tested everyday.

They are tested so they can testify. So they can teach and show us a better way.

Get Bloody.

Be courageous enough to come through the door first.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition~ Steve Jobs

You can’t win a war without getting bloody. You can’t find the solution to the world’s biggest problems with out getting bloody.

Attaining greatness rests on our ability to courageously take on risks and break from the comfortable shackles of courage killers:  apathy and complacency.

Break those chains and be the first through the door.

Get Bloody.

No one was ever great with out taking some hits.

Mid-year Reflection & Prompts to Guide the Way

I always create space for intentional reflection in January and July. I love pausing to think about the ways I have shown up and the ways I’ve missed the mark. How have I built community? In what ways have I been of true service? Where do I need to grow and explore my...
